And especially the fact that you can travel the entire world right here in New York City, gastronomically that is.

I review restaurants in New York that I visit , in every neighbourhood , every cuisine and price range. And in the process , share a few tidbits of my life.

Enjoy!

This was my second time there and liked it more than the first. I was there with some ex-collegues C,A and T. The restaurant has a very tropical, miami beach feel to it. The food is cuban with a elegant presentation. The ambience itself was very casual , relaxed and vibrant, it was a perfect place to be out on a hot NYC summer evening. We were there for drinks so didnt order dinner but ordered Tapas. Standard fare but we were not disappointed. C went staight for Alitas De Pollo ( spicy , honey glazed chicken wings with fried green plantain) and seemed to enjoy it. The honey flavour was much too overpowering for my liking. The mini seafood paella did the trick for me. Mussels on the side and shrimp and calamari in the paella. I dont have much experience with paella, but I am hooked now. The rice was richly flavoured with the seafood and had a mild flavour. We ordered two! A did seem to like the mojitos and C was buzzed on some "fruity" drink.

Verdict : One of the better places to go to for drinks and dinner in South Seaport. If you are in the neighbourhood ,check it out.

142 Beekman St - Btwn Front St & South StNew York, NY 10038 212 566-2220

New York A la Carte

New York is a living , breathing enigmatic character in my life.
